A request to dismiss charges against disbarred attorney Eric C. Conn that could carry a cumulative 255-year sentence should be denied, a federal magistrate judge has recommended.

Thousands of lawyers have descended upon Lexington for the annual Kentucky Bar Association convention. A timely question to ask is whether a bar association is simply a bureaucratic organization or does it have a greater purpose, especially concerning former clients of Eric Conn?
The Social Security Administration intends to put another 1,950 former clients of Conn — who pleaded guilty to fraud this month — through another set of grueling mass hearings.

The pickings have gotten slimmer when Mike Bowling needs to hire someone for his convenience stores in London and Manchester, where he also has a tobacco store.
“This is the hardest I’ve ever seen getting workers and keeping workers,” said Bowling, who has been in business 18 years. “You just ain’t got nobody to pick from.”
LETCHER Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Thousands of former clients of Eric C. Conn have had their social security benefits taken away and are being scheduled for redetermination hearings to see if and when they can get those benefits back. While Conn is in prison with a roof over his head and food in his stomach one of his former clients is struggling to have even that.

The public library in McCreary County has books, of course, and reading programs for young people and computers for people to access the internet.
But it also provides information on substance abuse, hosts healthy-cooking classes and diabetes workshops, puts on book walks that combine reading and exercise for kids and helps patrons research health issues.
Hearings continue in the review of Social Security Disability (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cases of clients formerly represented by attorney Eric C. Conn. The outcome of these hearings will seriously impact Mr. Conn’s former clients. If a client loses the hearing, the client will lose his/her benefits.

The Social Security Administration was slow to halt corruption within its own ranks, but has been eager to penalize Kentuckians who were victimized by their crooked, now-imprisoned lawyer, Eric Conn, and the Social Security judge who pocketed Conn’s bribes.
