Virtual Pro Se Divorce Clinic
AppalReD Legal Aid is hosting a VIRTUAL PRO SE DIVORCE CLINIC on THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  This first virtual clinic, available for persons from any county in the AppalReD service area, will be limited to ten (10) participants and will serve only those clients who do NOT have children of the marriage.  To participate, you will need access to a computer or tablet with a camera, access to the Internet, and the ability to use a keyboard to enter and download information.  If you are interested in registering for this virtual clinic, please call AppalReD’s Ce

Rosenberg reappointed to state public advocacy commission
By Mary Meadows Staff Writer May 27, 2020 Gov. Andy Beshear recently reappointed Prestonsburg attorney John Rosenberg to the Kentucky Public Advocacy Commission. He is the longest-serving member of the group, having served since 1994. He served as vice chair from 2001 to 2019. “I was really pleased,” he said about the reappointment. “I do think we have a great statewide system here that I think we can be proud of. I’ve really appreciated being on the commission over the years.”

As we begin the process of reopening the economy and emerging from the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic, health, and social/emotional hardships facing our communities will become clearer. COVID-19 will leave countless Kentuckians with new and unanticipated challenges. Many of the challenges will involve civil legal issues: keeping one’s home, protection from abuse, securing benefits like unemployment, and much more.

Recently, we found a way to respond that doesn’t require extra hand sanitizer.
