This is an approach to engaging survivors, which recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma may play in their lives while navigating the court system. Participants will gain insight into the significant impact of trauma on an individual's health and life, and how that can lead to a sense of powerlessness, fear, hopelessness, and a constant state of alertness.

You can change your name legally through a court process. You file a form called Petition for Name Change (linked below) in the county where you live. The District Judge in the county looks over your Petition. If the Judge okays (grants) your Petition, your name is changed.

Once your name is changed, it is your responsibility to tell everyone that needs to know. Make sure you think about all the legal, public and private agencies, companies and other people who need to know.

Good news! The Kentucky Division of Child Support website's Child Support Estimator has been updated! Now you can use it to calculate the child support obligation in your divorce or custody case. You should include a child support calculation when filing your case, even if you and the other parent have agreed that neither party will pay child support. That way the court knows that you are both aware of what child support would be if it was being ordered.
