Comprehensive policies usually pay for storm-related damage to a car. Federal disaster assistance may help fill the gaps for those whose coverage does not pay for any or all storm-related damage costs.
Kentucky Law Protects
Kentucky Law (KRS 383.300) protects survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who have protective orders AND entered into or renewed a lease on or after June 29, 2017.
Many parents are uncertain about bringing up the impact of domestic violence on their child. Parents may hope once their child is in a safe place they will forget about it. They may think discussing it does harm or "the less they know the better." A parent may be scared it will anger the abuser.
AppalReD Legal Aid is holding a legal clinic to assist flood survivors with their disaster-related legal issues, such as FEMA appeals, on Wednesday, October 5th from 9:00am to 4:00pm at CANE Kitchen in the old Whitesburg High School building in Whitesburg, Kentucky (38 College Drive, Whitesburg, KY 41858). Only estimate repairs to bring home to safe, sanitary, and livable condition. Estimate should NOT include repairs that bring the home to its pre-storm condition.

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The flood last July left thousands of people without a home or with one that needed severe repairs, and because of the level of disaster, FEMA applications were available for flood survivors.
Which meant Eastern Kentuckians were eligible to receive up to $37,900 in federal funding to help.
VAWA Protects
VAWA is a law that protects survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking from discrimination by certain federally funded housing providers. These protections apply even if you don't qualify for protection under Kentucky law (ie. do not have a protective order).
