HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials with AppalReD Legal Aid shared advice on eviction notices.

In a virtual eviction prevention clinic, legal professionals with AppalReD said they are there to support you.

Officials said if you received a notice to vacate but have yet to receive an eviction notice, you still have rights.

Charnel Burton with AppalReD Legal Aid said these sessions are in place to serve you so that you are able to understand your rights and talk to your landlord. “Once an actual court case is initiated, you are very limited on what you can do,” Burton said. “So, what we’re trying to do is assist people before things ever get to that point and to avoid ever having an eviction filed against them.”
