Do you need legal help?
The Volunteer Lawyers for Veterans Program is a statewide initiative that offers civil legal services to veterans living in poverty by pairing them with a pro bono (free) attorney!
Services include but are not limited to:
At AppalReD Legal Aid, we believe everyone deserves access to justice, no matter their income. Each year, our attorneys help survivors of domestic violence, families facing eviction or struggling after natural disasters, seniors experiencing fraud or abuse, and many others in crisis.
But the demand for legal help is greater than our staff alone can meet.
That’s where you come in.
Note: In some places in Kentucky, landlords and tenants have certain rights that are not available in other parts of Kentucky, through the Uniform Residential Landlord-Tenant Act (“URLTA”). Be aware that, at this time, the only places in AppalReD’s service area that have adopted these rules are Barbourville and Pulaski County. For the rest of AppalReD’s service area, the following
rules will apply.

Attorney Pro Bono Opportunities
AppalReD offers the following pro bono attorney opportunities:
1. Pro Bono Case Referrals- We can send you case referrals for pro bono representation in the following areas: family law, bankruptcies, collection cases, and evictions.
2. Low Income Taxpayer Clinic-You can volunteer to provide pro bono help to clients with IRS tax issues.
