But the demand for legal help is greater than our staff alone can meet. That’s where you come in.

What can I do if my landlord wants me out?
Note: In some places in Kentucky, landlords and tenants have certain rights that are not available in other parts of Kentucky, through the Uniform Residential Landlord-Tenant Act (“URLTA”). Be aware that, at this time, the only places in AppalReD’s service area that have adopted these rules are Barbourville and Pulaski County. For the rest of AppalReD’s service area, the following rules will apply. Eviction Information

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has information on elder abuse and neglect and how to get help. Call 1-(877) 597-2331 to report abuse/neglect/exploitation or request services. The online Kentucky Child/Adult Protective Services Reporting System​ is available to report non-emergency situations that do not require an immediate response from DCBS staff.

Renter Rights: Protection Under VAWA for Survivors of Domestic Violence
VAWA Protects VAWA is a law that protects survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking from discrimination by certain federally funded housing providers. These protections apply even if you don't qualify for protection under Kentucky law (ie. do not have a protective order).
