2026 Pro Bono Statistics
So far this year our Pro Bono Program has closed 150 cases, helping 259 adults and 151 children with a variety of legal issues. Through our in-person and virtual clinics, we have assisted individuals in representing themselves in divorce and custody proceedings. Through virtual clinics, we have assisted tenants in avoiding evictions by helping them form a real, effective plan for dealing with landlord-tenant issues BEFORE an eviction action was filed in court. Through in-person clinics we have drafted wills and helped individuals prepare petitions and orders to have criminal dismissals expunged. In collaboration with our Disaster Response Team and a variety of volunteer lawyers and law students, we have drafted dozens of wills, Powers of Attorney, living wills, and funeral planning declarations.
We currently have 4 in-person clinics each month and 2 virtual clinics every other week, as well as additional clinics as needed. That's over 100 opportunities this year for attorneys, law students, and others to volunteer to assist people who rely on pro bono work to enable to access justice and to make sure that their wishes are made known to their families in the event of an emergency.
