FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hundreds of former clients of disbarred Eastern Kentucky attorney Eric C. Conn are starting to get back their Social Security benefits.

Attorney Ned Pillersdorf, who has represented several of Conn’s former clients, said in a Facebook post Thursday that the Social Security Administration began distributing monthly benefits and backpay to Conn’s former clients.

More than 800 people lost their benefits as a result of one of the largest cases of Social Security fraud in history. Many have been without their benefits for almost three years.

This year there were five separate federal rulings, ordering the Social Security Administration to reinstate benefits to Conn’s clients.

Pillersdorf estimates the refunds will exceed $20 million.
