Comprehensive policies usually pay for storm-related damage to a car. Federal disaster assistance may help fill the gaps for those whose coverage does not pay for any or all storm-related damage costs.
Notre Dame Law Students are using their Fall Break to assist AppalReD with research and a pro se Divorce Clinic (do-it-yourself Divorce Clinic to assist low-income people secure an uncontested divorce without using a lawyer) which will be held on held on October 19, 2016. Once you sign up we will receive a Zoom link to confirm your spot. After the virtual clinic, Goodwill will request your unofficial background records from the Administrative Office of the Court for the purpose of expungement. A copy of your background will be provided to AppalReD Legal Aid (or your area's legal aid), so they will be able to go over it with you to determine what is eligible for expungement.
AppalReD Legal Aid is holding a legal clinic to assist flood survivors with their disaster-related legal issues, such as FEMA appeals, on Wednesday, October 5th from 9:00am to 4:00pm at CANE Kitchen in the old Whitesburg High School building in Whitesburg, Kentucky (38 College Drive, Whitesburg, KY 41858). AppalReD attorneys will be on site to assist existing clients and as many new clients as possible. If you are not an existing client, we encourage you to first call our flood hotline at 1(844) 478-0099 to complete an intake and ensure that we are able to help.
Only estimate storm-related damages. Do NOT estimate deferred maintenance.
Only estimate repairs to bring home to safe, sanitary, and livable condition. Estimate should NOT include repairs that bring the home to its pre-storm condition.
Quote standard replacement items such as floor covering, walls/ceilings, fixtures, and appliances.
List all line items with measurements, materials, labor, and work type (Ex. “Demo only”, “R&R”).
HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - AppalReD Legal Aid is a non-profit law firm that provides free legal services to people that qualify in 37 counties across the state.
HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The flood last July left thousands of people without a home or with one that needed severe repairs, and because of the level of disaster, FEMA applications were available for flood survivors.
Which meant Eastern Kentuckians were eligible to receive up to $37,900 in federal funding to help.
