Title: Network Administrator
Reports To: Executive Director
Appalachian Research and Defense Fund of KY, Inc (Appalred), a
non-profit law firm that provides free high quality legal
assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income
individuals seeks a Network Administrator to work in its
Prestonsburg office. This is a new position
The Network Administrator is
responsible for day-to-day Information Technology related
duties. She or he is required to conduct her/himself in a
competent, professional, and courteous manner, and must
demonstrate excellent administrative, and organizational skills.
The Network Administrator
reports to the Executive Director and provides user support for
10 offices and more than 60 staff and volunteers. The Network
Administrator has responsibility in the area of information
technology and for IT system administration and security;
coordination of resources, and staff training (IT and users, as
needed)
Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science or related field or comparable experience.

Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Database
Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Administrator, and A+
certification or equivalent experience;
-
3+ years of
experience with IT support in Windows and network
environment;

2+ years
experience in Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP or similar
technologies
-
Proven ability to structure develop,
execute, and evolve a strategic systems plan.

Capacity for problem analysis and resolution
at both strategic and functional levels.
-
Programming and database administration
experience e.g. SQL Server or MYSQL.
-
Skilled at organizing and managing multiple
priorities and projects.
-
Excellent written and oral presentation
skills; ability to persuade and to make technical issues
understandable to a "lay" audience.

Experience working well with a team and
diverse personalities in high demand environment.

both independently and as part of a team;

Demonstrate ability to assist
with the security of networks and data and to assist with
the backup and recovery of electronic files.

Ability to
interact and communicate with employees at all levels of the
organization, and the ability to problem solve in a
time-intensive, legal services environment in a
professional manner, both in person and over the telephone.

Ability to cooperatively work
with others throughout Appalred to address technology
issues.

Communicate effectively orally
and in writing.

Be able to occasionally work
non-normal day and evening schedules, on weekends and travel
overnight.

Experience with multi-offices in
a broad geographic area is preferred.

Experience in a legal office
environment is preferred.
-
Experience in a not-for-profit
entity is preferred.
