Tax Liability Cancelled
Mr. T received a notice from the IRS that he did not pay his taxes properly in 2002 in regard to a business he used to own. He protested
that he did not owe the taxes becauses he did not own the business that year and had not received income or dividends from the business. The
IRS offered him the chance to settle and he brought his information to the Low Income Tax Clinic.

AppalReD was able to show that Mr. T did not own the business during 2002 and indeed had not received any income or dividends. As a result,
the IRS dismissed the case and cancelled Mr. T's tax liability.
